“First of all, don’t feel bad that I’m gone. While I will miss spending time with each of you, I’m sure it will be an interesting time for me and I look forward to seeing all of you when you come over. To each of you I send my love… Please watch out for each other and love and forgive everybody. It’s a good life, enjoy it.”
– Jim Henson, in a letter he wrote to his children to be opened after his passing.

I’ve always loved The Muppets. Statler and Waldorf grumbling from the balcony, Pepe the King Prawn (he’s the best!) stealing every scene, and Jim Henson quietly reminding us that the best stories are really about family, intention and legacy.

That is why the quote above lands so hard for me. It carries that same spirit: love that does not end, joy that is chosen on purpose and a reminder to build memories with intention while we are here to share them.

Related, there is a new Disney+ special designed as a “backdoor pilot” for a fresh take on The Muppet Show. It is worth a watch, if only to remember how remarkable Jim Henson’s legacy is, and to be reminded that a good life, like a good show, is something we write together, one intentional scene at a time.
